Homemade Mayonnaise

As we all know that summers are here, and in this season we usually crave for things that are lighter to digest and easier to make. So, I found that mayonnaise itself is a whole thing that we can use to make variety of delicious foods in minutes and make our summers enjoyable!
Course: Main Course

Ingredients

  • 240 ml oil
  • 1 Egg
  • 1/4 tbsp Salt
  • 1/4 tbsp tbsp
  • 1 tbsp mustard sauce (optional)
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 garlic cloves (optional)

Instructions

  • Firstly, blend the egg in a blender for 20 seconds.
  • Then add all the ingredients: salt, black pepper, lemon juice, and mustard sauce (optional) except the oil and garlic cloves.
  • Again blend these together for 20seconds.
  • During the blending process, just remove the funnel from the lid and start adding oil slowly drop by drop.
  • Note that the blender should continuously blend the ingredients while adding oil (this would take about5minutes to complete the process).
  • After this, take it out in a bowl and according to your taste if you want you can add the garlic paste to give it a different and delicious end.
  • Your simple and tasty homemade mayonnaise is ready to enjoy!

TIPS

  • The most important tip of this recipe is to add the oil slowly during the blending process. This would give the mayonnaise thick and amazing texture. Otherwise, if you add oil at once mayonnaise will curdle and the consistency would not be thick.
  • You can store it in an air tight container for 7 If the mayonnaise starts looking too thick, add enough water to thin it to the consistency you desire. Add about a teaspoon of water at a time.

Notes

  • If the texture of your mayonnaise starts looking too thick, add enough water to thin it to the consistency you desire. Add only one teaspoon of water at a time.
  • If your mayonnaise is very thin, you can save the emulsion by adding another egg yolk, whisking vigorously.
