This “Crispy Fried Onions” recipe is super quick and easy to store. These fried onions can be store on room temperature in an airtight jar for up-to 3 months. They are perfect for garnishing on your favorite dishes, especially for Pakistani dishes like Biryani, Haleem / Laheem / Daleem and Nehari etc.
I often make Biryani and Haleem / Laheem / Daleem whenever I invite someone on a lunch or dinner. As sometimes, with busy routine, it becomes difficult to manage all the tasks. One of them is preparing fried onions for garnishing on Daleem while doing cooking and other tasks. So, I found this recipe so helpful that you can store it up-to 3 months can use whenever you need. On a family dinner, I was relaxed that I do not have to fry the onion right there and wait for them to get crispy, but just took form my airtight jar and serve in the garnishing plate and they add a great crispy taste. Crispy Fried Onions
Ingredients
- ½ kg Onions
Instructions
- 1. Cut the onions into thin slices.
- 2. Now take a wok / Karahi. Pour the oil for deep frying. Oil should be hot before add in gonions. Check the oil by adding one onion slice.
- 3. When the oil is heat-up, add the onions. Leave them untouched for about a minute.
- 4. After a minute, turn the flame from high to medium. Turn the onions so they cook from all sides evenly.
- 5. Remove the dirt (brown color) that comes up. Then turn the onions again.
- 6. After about 10-15 minutes, onions have started to change their color.
- 7. Once all onions turned brown, take them out on kitchen towel.
- 8. Let them cool down and come to the room temperature.
- 9. Store them in airtight container.
